I will try doing the same and build a mouse type of device to point. Will be cool to use in apps like Google Earth and games. 

That soldering iron of yours.. I use it at my workplace. Can you tell me how do u manage to keep tip clean / free from oxidation when heating up / between soldering ? Mine gets black quickly at 390 C and I use a sponge to clean it then.</description>
